Vodafone welcomes PNG DataCo

This week Vodafone PNG were pleased to officially sign on PNG DataCo Limited as a new corporate user of their network and celebrated by hosting a small luncheon at their new clients Waigani office.

Vodafone’s Head of Corporate Sales & Account Management, Mr. Bipin Solanki said, “This is a small token of our appreciation from the Vodafone family to the management and staff of PNG DataCo Limited for choosing to partner with Vodafone.’’

PNG DataCo Limited provides broadband wholesale only telecommunications services to retail carriers and service providers in PNG over the PNG National Transmission Network (NTN). The organisations General Manager Commercial, Mr. Une O’ome had this to say, “On behalf of PNG DataCo we are also pleased to welcome Vodafone on board as one of our service providers of mobile data as well as CUG. We believe in competition. That’s why we exist - to provide service providers the capability to in return provide their services to our people and with Vodaone coming on as a new competitor in the market, we are more than happy to use your service for our suspense. We are pleased to continue this partnership and if there are any other new additional services from Vodafone that we can use we’ll be happy to trial those also. Thank you, Vodafone, for this wonderful gesture. We believe this is the beginning of a great relationship.’’

The Vodafone team brought in light refreshments and a large chocolate cake to mark the occasion. Mr. Solanki went on to say, “This is a tradition for us in Fiji that we’ve adopted in PNG because signing a big deal like this calls for celebration and in true Melanesian style we celebrate with food. We welcome PNG Data Co to the Vodafone network and we hope this is just the beginning of things to come.”
