Natania Kook is Miss Vodafone 2022

Meet Miss Vodafone PNG 2022 – Natania Kook– 21 years old Born in Jiwaka Province and from a mixed parentage of Enga & Sepik Provinces and South Korea (Seoul).  

Natania is not new to the Miss Pacific Islands Pageant (MPIP) PNG Platform, she has been a model for the MPIP PNG project runway since 2018 and now is excited to embark on a new journey with the organisation.

Natania is passionate about bringing awareness to topics such as education particularly early development for children and hopes to use the MPIP PNG Platform to assist marginalized children who are in need.

 “I am passionate about the causes I believe in and I work every day because I want to help raise my four younger siblings and be an inspiration to them to work hard and live well.”

 Natania completed year 12 at Jubilee Catholic Secondary School and pursued a Certificate in Business Studies at the Port Moresby Business College and aspires to complete Tertiary studies in the near future.

 “I hope to inspire youth of PNG to have ambition, work hard and never give up despite the circumstances they are in.”

 Chairperson of the MPIP PNG, Mrs Molly O’Rourke welcomed Miss Vodafone PNG 2022 to the Miss PNG Pacific Islands Pageant and thanked the Management and Staff of Vodafone PNG especially the Managing Director Mr Nirmal Singh and PR & Sponsorship Manager Charmaine ToRobert.

 Mrs O’Rourke said, “We are not surprised that Vodafone PNG has selected Natania to be their ambassador; her elegance, determined attitude and energy on the runway reflects her outlook on life and this is a stand out to a Global Telecommunications Brand like Vodafone. We believe, Natania is a really great fit for Vodafone PNG and she will take on the role seriously to be the best Brand Ambassador for her sponsor – Vodafone PNG.”

 2022 Miss Vodafone PNG’s Designer is Annette Sete.

 The 2022 Miss Papua New Guinea Crowning Ball is scheduled for 10th December at APEC Haus, Port Moresby. Tickets are available now K650 pp or K6500 for a corporate table.

 Mrs O’Rourke said MPIP PNG had not held a pageant since 2019 due to Covid and that has affected young women who receive assistance from the MPIP PNG Scholarship Fund.

 “The Crowning Ball is staged with the aim of raising funds for the MPIP PNG Scholarship Fund which has been the foundation of MPIP PNG since its inception in 2012.

MPIP PNG has two core functions -

Empowerment of women through education and mentoring. This is done through Miss PNG pageant and the Scholarship Fund. 

The other is empowerment of women through economic activities or SMEs. This is done through the Project Runway which promotes creativity and ethnic cultural identity in a fusion of fashion.
